I've been told many times that morality comes is based on the evolutionary processes, you know..that which helps the species survive is good, that which doesn't is bad. If that is true, which I've been assured many times by secularists that it is, then the condition of not wanting to form sexual unions capable of producing offspring is bad. It's certainly not debilitating, but it would qualify, from an evolutionary perspective, as maladaptive, like color-blindness.
Besides the person quoted in the OP is wrong - a fetish is when a body part or inanimate object is taken to represent the whole of sexual object. Homosexuality would be a perversion, i.e. a misuse of the sexual function, much like masturbation.
