I'd be surprised by the fact that homophobes don't see the flaws in their arguments, but it's all a part of being human. They don't see why nobody would choose to be/remain homosexual when faced with discrimination ranging from simple disgust to death threats.
If I could've chosen to be heterosexual, I would have. In fact, I tried to. Then I admitted to myself I wasn't.
The owner of that pizza shop that refused to cater to gay weddings also faced discrimination from simple disgust to death threats. Do you think those things are really going to change his convictions?
