The "what and the how" are more important than the "why". There really is no ultimate reason for "all this", at least not one with a giant cognition causing it.
The universe was around before we existed, and it will go on fine without us when we go extinct an our planet dies. It sure is fun in the meantime to make the attempt to find answers to the unknown to get to the point of describing them in natural terms.
I wouldn't say gravity is always fun, certainly powerful, but would suck if the plane you are flying on at 40,000 feet loses power or flips over. The fall might not kill you but the sudden stop will.
