The story shows that Peter was the biggest dummy of all time. He had been paling around fulltime with Jesus for two or three years. He had listened to all of his words and seen all of his deeds. The dummy even "Knew that Jesus WAS the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, he was all of it." But when it was time for the dummy to put up he wimped out like an earthworm. If Jesus was real he should have thrown his butt into the lake of fire as he said in John 15:6.
This is because Peter had not yet been converted.
Quote:Luke 22Peter had been with Jesus this whole time but had not had a conversion, which could only come through the death of Jesus,
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
Quote:John 16:7
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Quote:Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high
This happens on the day of Pentecost in the book of Acts 2nd Chapter
After Peter receives the Holy Spirit he is a completely different (converted) person.
