You, on the other hand, use your emotions to dictate your points and almost never back up what you say with facts. Any air of superiority I have over you, any chump with a high school education also possesses.
If you actually took some time to study, you might actually come off as someone who knows what they are talking about instead of making comments our Republican politicians utter when pressed with the facts of Global Warming.
If your points are about theism or your beliefs, then how are there any "academic details". Atheists do not have to "stick to values" or even defend themselves. Atheism consists of a very broad range of people who have different thoughts and perspectives. The only thing that most of us all agree on is that we do not believe in god(s). Some say they know that there is no god, some say that it can't be proven, and some even say that they do not care. Those three things and more fall under the umbrella that is atheism.
So, do not generalize us please, for we are all different people with different mindsets. But just to be clear, I guarantee that none of us believe in your magic daddy in the clouds.
The points I make any secularist who had even one class in Biblical studies (outside of Islam and paganism, I took a class on Hebrew Scriptures and the History of Ancient Israel....but only remember the latter as it was taught by Eric Cline). Frankly, I know more of the Bible than many theists because I was taught a lot of it by an atheist (well, he's kind of Jewish by birth).
My point is, if an atheist claims to value academia over theists, they should at least be knowledgeable about those academic values they lord over the theists. I notice the same hypocrisy from theists who claim family values when disparaging the liberals, yet cheat on their spouses or horde their money at the expense of the poor. I believe this causes the greatest harm to their respective camps.
I was pointing him out in particular. Most atheists I know act like everyone else, including the theists I know.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
