He's right. The base is crazy. You can't win a primary in the party of crazy unless you show them you are at least partially crazy yourself. This is why no Republican is acceptable to me for any office whatsoever. Even a perfectly sane individual in that party is accountable to crazy people. Sane people must become crazy if they want to operate in that party.

Somethings got to give. The party will eventually have to tear itself completely down, dump their base of lunatics and build a new one closer to the center.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
