I've been playing Nehrim for a few hours now, and it's fucking awesome! It feels so much more realistic than oblivion, and it has some elements from my other FAVORITE EVER rgp's The Gothic Series!
The storyline is really quite impressive, it's hard to acquire goods, the leveling system is essentially a combination of Gothic and Oblivion. Like Gothic you buy books of techniques for hunting etc, The terrain is so much better mapped than oblivion, nothing feels like a generic filler algorithm, there is a much better sense of scale, walking around with the grass up to your legs with the trees looming over you is much better than the oblivion equivalent.
The combat system while being nearly identical in feeling seems much harder, the creatures are extremely tough early one, but they don't level up with you like in oblivion.
There is a decent amount of new gear too.
