I play World of Warcraft, though lately I have not touched it in a week. I got a bunch of games on DVD, my favorites that I usually play the most are CIV 2, Pharoah, and I like old games which I play through DosBox: Civilization, Master of Magic and Dune. The ones I have in my game library that are gathering dust are Lords of Magic, Age of Empires, Age of Empires II, Deadlock, Dune 2000, Heritic II, CIV III, CIV IV, Age of Mythology, Zeus, and Ceasar III. Plus I have a few games which I bought that I cannot play because of some puter technicality (MechWarrior--"incompatible chip" and Defiance--can not get past the download, breaks down every time!
Yeah, I got a lot of games, and a lot of time. lol
I can get into some good space games too. I currently have Galactic Civilizations II, which is basically Civ in space. You can colonize planets, build ships and upgrade them, research tech, explore space, and have diplomacy with other space faring races. Galactic Civilzations III is coming out soon, got an e-mail from Stardock games the other day about it. It looks good.

I played a really fun one about 5-6 years ago, that was pretty in-depth as far as upgrades and progression goes, and I'm always trying to recreate that fun. I'm not even a big fan of that genre, but I've always felt that there has to be some way to make that type of game super engrossing. Are there any cream of the crop titles that everybody know about but me?
Why top-down? Why not 3D?
To me, X2 is one of the greatest games that ever existed. I mean, you get to do a variety of missions, and you can BUILD your own space stations-- complete with algae farms, solar energy farms, weapons factories, etc. And you can fly around your station and actually see what it looks like. Oh-- and you can train a team of pirates to take over expensive warships, or attack a freighter until the captain ejects and steal it.
