Probably because in America, Christians are the ones who say that they get their absolute morality from god ... and also because this being an atheist forum, you're in the crosshairs.
Like Randy defending the Catholic child-molesters, you can either defend the actions of the criminal by deflecting attention to another perceived wrongdoing, or you can condemn the actions of yet another Christian child molester, and wonder why your religion doesn't provide the moral fiber it claims to provide.
Many, many folks in this world do the wrong thing. But Christians almost invariably seek to excuse the wrongdoings of fellow Christians, even as they excoriate nonChristians for their flaws. Turnabout's fair play. If you wish to argue that your faith imparts morality, you must explain the immoral acts of the faithful. And if you cannot explain their immoral acts, you ought not appeal to the moral argument when we're discussing your particular brand of deity.
