I think what you mention is more like an illustration of higher dimensions and how we would perceive the 3D-projections of higher-dimensional objects, which is a fascinating exercise. But there being more than 3 space dimensions is an old hat by now. Been there, done that. There really only being 2, now that's gutsy.
