Stim, i really need your help.
I am in a big big trouble.
Please help.
You see Stim out there there are some billion of Hindus, Buddhists yogis and other people who are convinced that Sentient means what is good in helping you spiritually speaking.
Now all these billion of people just contact me and ask if i can do something so the word sentient keep his original meaning.
They know that we are sort of friend and they know that you can help to make sure that the word sentient just mean what i just mention above.
Can you help Stim?
Please Stim let us sort out this big problem before Christmas together with the other philosophy problem.
Thanks Stim.

Just as i just said in my post to Ton.
Religious people changes so much the meaning that was given by the spiritual beings that the original meaning has been totally lost and now they are chasing dreams and dogmas.
Highly spiritual beings like Christ, Buddha, Shiva and khrisna just to named few never intended to create religions but those who follow slowly slowly turned the original meaning into something else.
You follow the same demented path into agree that the original meaning once changed make sense.
You should really organize a party with religious people and hug each other after all you got so many thing in common.
Quote:You really don't understand the genetic fallacy, do you?
That's okay, now you've switched to a new fallacy. The appeal to tradition fallacy.
How do you know that it was originally good and is no longer good?
Look at here yogini.
Sentience is the ability to feel, perceive, or experience subjectively.[1] Eighteenth-century philosophers used the concept to distinguish the ability to think (reason) from the ability to feel (sentience). In modern Western philosophy, sentience is the ability to experiencesensations (known in philosophy of mind as "qualia"). In Eastern philosophy, sentience is a metaphysical quality of all things that requires respect and care. The concept is central to the philosophy of animal rights, because sentience is necessary for the ability tosuffer, and thus is held to certain rights.

Is not good anymore?
This has really nothing to do whether the present version is good or bad but whether his original meaning has changed or not.
The original meaning (Sattvik) means what is good for your spiritual progress while the present meaning as you can see above tell of
the ability to feel and it is also incorrect into saying that in the......Eastern philosophy, sentience is a metaphysical quality of all things that requires respect and care.......
What all this has got to do with the original meaning coming from Shiva and Krishna thousand of year ago only Santa knows.
