This isn't the first time we've had a theist ask the same question and point to the "no" answers as showing that it's not that we don't believe in god, but that we reject his generous offer and wouldn't even recognize him if he personally walked up and greeted us. As I said earlier in this thread, that should be unsatisfying for the theist. In part because it just serves as a reminder that god doesn't ever show up and make the whole discussion moot. Having to approach it from the "can't prove he doesn't" side would have to be frustrating when you are talking about the most powerful and amazing being in all of reality.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
