What about the color force?

There is a bit of a nomenclature problem.. I usually mean the color force when I say strong force, but strong force could also refer to the one mediated by the exchange of pions, i.e. of compositr particles. The former holds the quarks together to form protons neutrons, pions etc, the latter binds the protons and neutrons to atomic nuclei.
