Christians do it too. Mosques have been defaced and even set on fire in the states. Synagogues too. Protest is one thing, this is simply sick base tribalism and the behavior of a street gang.
Having said that though, I'm a bit concerned people are more bothered about the statue than they are the man who got attacked.
