It was ok I guess. 6.5-7/10.
I'd give it a solid 6/10.
- Complete lack of a compelling story - any of the many stories, and I thought there were too many
- Complete lack of character-building such that I didn't care whether a single "hero" lived or died, and kind of wanted them all to die
- No chemistry between any of the actors (the brothers, the "love interests," the "hero" and "villain"...
- Felt in a lot of ways like a scene-for-scene crappy-ass remake of the original with a suckier story and even suckier cast (the cast was suckier than the story, I really love the original cast from JP1 - just to be clear)
- The return of the random previous character... with not so much as a word about how they so radically changed...
-
- Most of all, though, I though the entire movie was a huge slander piece on things like GMO and genetics research and feel like it's going to contribute more to the misinformation and fears that are already there than it will simply entertain.
But there were dinosaurs so I can't give it less than a 5/10, and a whole point must be given simply because it's a JP movie
And I guess the main guy was kinda cute, so let's add a quarter point just for making the movie tolerable by having him in it: 6.25/10

Yeah, I'd agree with that. I thought it was a thoroughly terrible movie, but I didn't pay to see it (by sister bought the tickets) so I didn't feel like I was jipped or anything. I wouldn't see it again, though, that's for sure.

Funny, isn't it. It was the last 20 minutes which I enjoyed the most. (I had a tear in my eye when our "friend" came to lend a hand.) hehe
I was practically rolling in the aisle when that happened.
I agree, though, the last bit of the movie was actually entertaining to me, for as stupid as it was. I spent the whole first part of the movie wondering how long it would be before the dinosaurs would escape and kill those annoying brothers and in the end I was totally rooting for the dinos to eat everyone!!!

I don't mind that sort of thing when there's character development. All you see of the brothers before they leave is that the older one is generally kind of a sullen asshole and the other one needs to be pushed off a cliff. Then all you see is the younger one being endlessly annoying while the older one eye-fucks every girl he can see... then suddenly you find out from the mom that the older one is really mean to the younger one? Really? All he's done is ignore him. Then suddenly they're about to be eaten by a dinosaur and the older one grows a big-brother instinct and is all protective?
How endlessly bad can this movie be?...
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
