I've been in a holding pattern with the VA, and will be for some time to come ... I'm too young for the hip replacement I need. I can't remember what pain-free life was like. My case is assigned to the Temple, TX hospital, ground zero for the misreporting scandal. I got an MRI in early October of 201:
"You've either got avascular necrosis, or bone cancer."
"Wow, when can I get in for testing to see what's what?"
"December 26th is the earliest opening, can you do that?"
Eleven weeks is a goddamned long time when cancer is a possibility. I wonder if my files were one of the ones mislabeled for the auditors?
At any rate, I wouldn't mind higher taxes for government-funded medical care, but it needs to be much improved. If I had had cancer rather than AVN, the possibility of me not being here to write this post seems awful high.
