Of course Jesus Christ dying for everyone's sins forever would be completely counterproductive to our well being. Being sorry isn't the base. The base is the acceptance of a higher power than yourself. And acting as if life makes a fuck to you personally.
There are plenty of "higher powers" than myself, none of which has anything to do with -any- religion, -any- god, or -any- jesus. None of these "higher powers" being "higher powers" means shit. The IRS is a higher power, and I pay them or else.......and? Something tells me that this won't be satisfying, to you.......
