Naw, it's location. The Northeast, aka New England is entirely represented in the top 10 for least religious. So the 6 New England states are Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine. Interestingly enough the Northwest is also not very religious.
I would wonder if it has more of a correllation with Population density.

Comparing the population maps with the religion one it seems the most densely populated states lean towards the least religious. Not always but I think it's interesting to note.
