An uncomfortable ethics question.

Are our own lives worth as much as 10 people? How would you answer the question?

I don't think valuablity (is it even a word?) is a factor in a situation like this, our survival instinct plays a much bigger role.
You could argue the morality of the choice, but personally I don't think anyone would choose a stranger (or strangers) over their own.
