The only way to achieve more progress in this regard is to vote for the Democrats and keep them in long term (past the limited two years they were given during the 111th Congress). I understand that people here don't want to make this about parties, but it is an objective fact that barring people like Rand Paul, the GOP overwhelmingly supports hard law enforcement and the War on Drugs. President Obama hasn't been perfect, but this action describes a commitment to change that we aren't seeing from the opposite aisle.
#FeelTheBern? Then get out there and volunteer on progressive campaigns, get appointed to government committees, join your local political party, and consider running for office. In order to push for change, you must participate in the political process.
