If it wasn't because of atheism, why did Wurmbrand undergo "Christianity is Stupid" brainwashing for seventeen hours a day for weeks as in the YouTube video above? Not only was he imprisoned, but tortured as well. I know Stalin wasn't the leader of Romania, but that country was under the same system.
Stalin subjucated religion because it was a rival for his power not because of atheism.
By the way Stalin once trained to become a priest.
