Florida schools ban Bibles

I don't normally start threads just to stir the pot, but if you're on Disqus, you might want to check out some of the thousands of comments on this story. Btw, the school didn't actually ban Bibles, they just banned distribution of Bibles when faced with the prospect of allowing the distribution of FFRF and Satanist materials as well.

I thought they did this a while ago?
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

Yes, but the comments are still buzzing. Largely because Christianists can't seem to let go of the notion that the only reason anyone would disagree with them is if they hate God.

The interaction between Steven Westley and Mys77 at the end was fantastic.
SW: "You're a liar, and you are dodging my question because you cannot back up your lies."
Mys: "You just don't want to hear the truth."
SW: "Still lying, why don't you just answer the question?"
Mys: "It doesn't matter what I say..."
Ad nauseum.
Priceless.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

comments are hilarious - give one good insight into the Christian mindset of hegemony, particularly in the Babble-Belt.

I didn't hit it. It's the equivalent of being in charge of your own morphine drip. I'll just mash that button until my brain melts.
