I don't know why more abused wives in general don't snap and kill someone.
Why do they stay, or go back to abusers?
I figure it stems from a time when being a badass was the best way to advance in society (kings, knights, headmen, etc) and wives that stood up were removed from the population by violence.
It may be marginally better now that cube farm jobs have taken over from beating mules into pulling a plow all day. But a simple trigger pull could save so much suffering.....
