Quote:"We're not saying that a virus is the only cause of obesity, but this study provides stronger evidence that some obesity cases may involve viral infections," Pasarica says in a news release. "We would ultimately like to identify the underlying factors that predispose some obese people to [the effects of] this virus and eventually find a way to treat it."
If you have a low BMI then you probably don't look overweight to other people. Is it possible that your perception about your own body is off?
Terrifying isn't it. People have been trying to develop a vaccine for around 10 years but as far as I can tell it's not available yet. The really scary thing is that there's no reason to think that AD36 is the only common virus that has this effect. If you look into the history of how this one in particular just happened to be the only one that's had this kind of research done on it in humans (other species have other viruses with the same effects), it seems very likely that there are others that we don't know about. Basically, NEVER GET ILL. EVER!

It's always possible that your own perception is off, but I care more about my own perception than other people's anyway. People say I'm slim but I already know that - it's not that I think I'm overweight, but that I'm still "skinny fat" - my fat-to-muscle ratio is too high, always has been. I don't have a belly but the lack of muscle makes me jiggle everywhere despite not taking up much space. I detest strength training, which doesn't help matters. I'm never going to look strong but "tight" would be good enough.
"Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is like when you trust yourself to the water. You don't grab hold of the water when you swim, because if you do you will become stiff and tight in the water, and sink. You have to relax, and the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging, and holding on. In other words, a person who is fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the nature of God and the universe becomes a person who has no faith at all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be."
