And why, do we think, do people make fun of each other? It might seem like pure derision but I know I do it with people I care for when there is something about them that isn't sitting well with me - like Rhythm and his desire to overthrow the govmint. (<-See, I did it again.) But it is the wife who comes in for my constructive nudges most often. I don't think she would miss them if I stopped expressing my caring about our relationship in this way. In fact she would probably SAS* for a month if I would stop. But the point is, I think it is pretty common to pick and prod in this way and when we do it it isn't necessarily motivated by a desire to be judgmental.
