Dunno about ALL religions, but if you think Islam is "uniquely violent," spend a few minutes browsing the Old Testament, and read up a bit on a little party that Christians threw called the Inquisition. (The Inquisition still exists, BTW, cooled down a bit. It's now called the Confraternity of Christian Document. Old wine, new bottle.)

The Aztec religion was a bit on the naughty side too, what with all the cutting out of the still beating hearts with a sharpened stone and all.

All fundamental beliefs seem to end with people being killed or otherwise oppressed.
