I have no idea what GED is, but if you only have classes on 2 days of the week, have you considered volunteering somewhere during the other days? That'll get you out and about and you'll surely meet people. As with everything, you'll meet nice people, normal people, cranky people, crazy bastards, a few loonies and the odd really disturbed individual.
