I lean to agreeing with his assessment.
One think I love about liberals, BOTH theists and atheist liberals, is our INTENT. But in that good intent, sometimes I think we end up becoming so ridged it becomes counter productive.
We can make this about sexual assault, but in other crimes, such as robbery and even murder, we have in those DIFFERENT DEGREES. You have for example, involuntary manslaughter vs 1rst degree pre meditated murder. Just like we don't treat purse snatching which is robbery, the same as we would if someone stuck a gun to your face and demanded your wallet, or worse, getting shot and then having your wallet taken.
I support the #metoo and #timesup movement. I am for equality and minority rights. But I do not want to see that good intent become the same ridged mentality that the far right does in trying to shut down the conversation.
Females are NOT here for men, they are here because of evolution, just like men. Females ARE equal to men, and can be in leadership roles and even primary bread winners. If a female says no, we agree that means NO! But that recognition cannot be so ridged as to ignore distinctions. Working on progress to make a better environment for all, cannot be had by employing blanket solutions. "All or nothing" has never worked in maintaining an open society.
Political Correctness is what North Korea is. Political Correctness is what Saudi Arabia and Iran look like. I simply do not want to see OUR good intent as liberals play into the hands of the right wing and give them cover.
