Eh, I think it's definitely possible to be "burnt out" on comedy for a while. Now days, I find myself much more attracted to stand-up comedy than comedy movies, as comedy movies rarely make me laugh sincerely. I still very much enjoy the work of Bill Burr, Louis CK, Chris Rock, Tom Segura... Theo Von is pretty funny and I even enjoyed Christina P's special (who is Tom Segura's wife). I actually liked Hannah Gadsby's "Nanette," even though the serious undertone and the whole SJW "I hate straight, cis white men" mood turned me off a little. She was actually quite funny and I ended up really liking the special.... left me wondering if she's really quitting comedy.
So yeah, I think I prefer stand-up to comedy movies, but even then I can definitely find myself getting burnt out on stand-up for periods of time.
