Facts don't matter to Trump's faction; nobody will care about the justification of the emergency if there is enough force behind it to push it to the front. And his wing has that force.
My only thought is about the other faction facing Trump: is it strong enough to told him and his wing back?
Please. Trump controls neither the courts nor Congress, either of which can stop this shit. McConnell may refuse to allow the Senate to vote on it, but neither Trump nor McConnell can prevent the courts from taking it up. Given that Justice Roberts seems determined to keep the Roberts court from becoming a politicized, I believe the odds that SCOTUS will allow this stand are near zero.
