I don't think all billionaires are selfish dicks. I would say though, even the ones I would not consider selfish dicks, could do a better job understanding that instead of using private charity as PR, livable wages and universal health care would actually serve them better and create that independence the rich always claim more should have.
The real problem is global in that 62 individuals and or families whom are uber billionaires have the combined wealth of 3 billion of the rest of us.
I don't think however that things will change unless the middle class and working class stand up for themselves. But to say we cant change it would be a mistake. I think when humans unite you can change things. I am not against the private sector, I am merely against monopolies and abuse of power.
It s why for example, when I see a "charity" in Food Lion, to "donate meals" to the local community, that shit pisses me off. If they pay workers a livable wage, that wouldn't be needed. And worse is that they get a tax break for doing that. So the reality is, it isn't real charity, it is just PR. The rest of us have to make up for that tax break.
The best charity would be paying wages that keep up with the cost of living. If you do thtop less people would need government help.
First off, no one said it was about class. Stop correcting people who said the same thing you said. It makes you look as if you aren't paying attention.
Secondly, have you considered that donating meals to the local community might have nothing to do with wages? These meals may be going to elderly shut-ins, the disabled, or the homeless.
Third and lastly, paying a living wage cannot be the best charity because it isn't charity in the first place.

Have you ever met someone who was totally unmotivated, unskilled and uncaring about their job? Somebody who is just there for the paycheck and give not a shit for the service, product or customer?
You want to pay them the same as a guy who busts his ass for his employer?
Interesting concept.
