I'm definitely not a fan of the pure horror genre. Real life can suck enough so I tend to prefer optimistic fiction such as Star Trek.
Saw The Exorcist in 1974. Gave me nightmares. Read a lot of Stephen King in the late 70's early 80's. Enjoyed most. Quite liked the first TV of series The Stand. The Mist gave me some distress. Have not yet managed to watch any version of "It". Tried, stopped watching when that child got his arm ripped off.
I really liked "Interview With a Vampire". I think it's Tom Cruise's best film next to collateral. Hated the TV Vampire series.
