A bit of a non sequitor when speaking of the games. Sports mad Australia has an excellent record of success in the Olympic Games, which far outweighs our size.
I won't get into a fatuous argument about relative importance; it's irrelevant to me. Australia is my home and the centre of my world.
Actually I was thinking about other areas where this view of our importance is not accurate. However I am a bit concerned when people are despairing of our seen to be "lack of performance" so far in the Olympic Games.
Given how important Australia is in the affairs of the world, we should be celebrating every medal Australian Olympians get in the games. Also I believe that precious taxpayers money should not be spent on trying to win more medals at both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
