Yes, Yes indeed.
Those books did more damage than the "Just Say No" assholes claimed all that "smoking" I was doing in high school did.
I could go on and on about why those books are awful (character-wise, plot-wise, social-commentary-wise, etc.) but I'm pleased to report my memory of them has faded significantly enough that I can't even remember all my gripes about it.
Although I did get into some lengthy rant sessions on another forum so I'm sure I could go dig those up and link them
Basically, the lesson I took away from the Twilight books was: Romance novels, especially YA romance novels, are SOOOOO not my thing. And never again read anything Stephanie Meyer has written (or any books that stem from the fanfiction of said works)
