Shadowlands (1993)- ok, I watched that movie back in the 90s but back then I didn't know what a Christian hero CS Lewis was, so the most interesting thing about this movie is how much Lewis is battling with his Christianity. At the beginning of the movie, and almost throughout it, he is holding these lectures about why God lets us suffer which all comes as a threshing of empty straw, but by the end of the movie, Lewis seems to become aware of it, that his theology is a delusion, that his last words in the movie are pretty much a statement that he doesn't know if he believes in what he is preaching.
So I went to IMDB to see if Christians are aware of this, and there seem to be lots of complaints about that.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
