I watched the new documentary about Albert Brooks and I had no idea that he was such a titan. I always thought that he was a dork who made mediocre movies. But no. His movies are such masterpieces that even Kubrick would call him to ask how he made them.
Even as a comedian he always looked like some dork who was desperately trying to be funny. But no. He is the best comedian ever. Even when Brooks was a teenager Carl Reiner would go on the Carson show and say how there is this teenager who is the best comedian of our times, and it just got better and more important from that like when he set the format of SNL.
I kept expecting that someone would yell "Prank" during the movie, but apparently not.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
