Leave the World Behind
Unbelievable dialog and characters. The first half of the movie looks like it might become an interesting thriller, and then it fizzles out.
Our knowledge of the situation comes from direct exposition from the characters and not from discovering anything ourselves. Strange stylistic choices of colors and rotating camera zooms may increase some sense of weirdness, but they have no reason at all.
One character says something like "media can be both escapism and social commentary". Well, look at me, viewer, this movie is both escapism and social commentary! Isn't this a smart movie!
Well, no. It is just bad, by my standards.
