I went out on Xmas and saw that Anchorman movie. My parents picked it out, expecting a barrel of laughs. I am not the laughter type, but I came out actually liking the movie OK. It was a bit long, but mainly it had the feel of drawing to a close for over a full hour before it actually ended. So, I got a bit impatient.
My parents wound up being the ones completely disgusted by the movie. The worst for them was the scene at the dinner table with the black family. They couldn't take all the (inept) jokes being tossed around by the main character. I, OTOH, felt like it was OK, since the family members were visibly angered by it. They obviously didn't try to play along.
