There is a difference between being a life form and having rights as a living being.
The distinction is based on having a brain, which is what allows us to experience reality as a thinking, feeling, self-aware being. The human fetus does not yet have a brain, so it is not a being.
Were it not for that distinction, every time you scratch your nose, you would be committing a genocide of human cells that would rival the atrocities of Hitler and Stalin.
Again, the formula isn't hard to follow.
Brain = being = rights.
No brain = not a being = no rights.
