The problem is that calling it "God" goes far beyond simply choosing a convenient label. It also carries the unspoken agenda of shoe-horning everything that comes with the name "God" into the equation without a shot being fired and with exactly zero justification for it. That opens up, completely unnecessarily, a can of worms so monstrous they could eat the ones from Dune.
