It seems that men just prefer not to seek help in most cases which can be used to model our behavior and make predictions about how we might behave given certain circumstances. It has been my experience that men don't ask for directions as soon as women although both genders will seek help given a long enough timeline. It makes no sense to wait to ask for directions when you are lost so I adopted the behavior of asking for directions ASAP because it makes sense.
Which is why a guy would have to be nonsensical to not ask directions I agree that males might have a propensity to dislike having to ask for directions initially (or even for a slightly extended time)... but people in general consider wether they need directions or not... and then usually decide to ask for them if they aren't certain they know where they are going Given enough time, just about anyone will eventually ask for directions
