I am optimistic that there will be justice in this case, but we'll have to wait and see. The global attention and the fact that Pakistan is a current member of the UN Humand Rights Council should ensure that the Islamic influence that let the guy off above won't hold sway in this case.

Just had to share this. It is straight out of Pakistan's petition to be part of the 2015 UN Human Rights Council group.

Quote:6. Some of the significant pieces of legislation include: (a) the Prevention of Anti-Women Practices (Criminal Law Amendment) Act, 2011, which strengthened protections for women against discrimination and harmful traditional practices, including forced marriage, child marriage and depriving women from inheriting property; (b) the Acid Control and Acid Crime Prevention Act, 2010; © the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2010, which criminalized harassment at public and workplaces; and (d) Protection against Harassment at the Workplace Act, 2010, which defined harassment and outlined a code of conduct for the workplace.

I just....I'm lost for words except to say I'm lost for words/.
