There's plenty "wrong with me" - that I'm not comfortable scapegoating someone isn't one of those things. It's a cute line, of course. But so what if it were pride....does that change whats been done to clear my debt? No, it's still pretty horrible. So we have a proud man refusing to beat someone else for his own misdeeds. Is there a problem with that?
I'll ask again, since you saw fit to respond...how about you? Ready to string up your neighbor to clear your parking tickets?
what standard are you measuring yourself to say that you're wrong. what is right then? you don't beat Jesus to clear your debt. neither do I or anyone one else have to do anything to for our salvation. its paid for in full. one time, one sacrifice. All you have to do is believe on the One who did it and what He did was true. and you receive forgiveness and everlasting life. All the bad things you've done and will do once you're saved God will separate them from you as far as the east is separated from the west. That is good news.
It hardly matters what standard I use. This is my opinion, I could improve upon my self in many ways - accepting vicarious redemption is not one of those ways. That I wouldn't have to do anything doesn't make it anymore attractive a method of improvement in my book. Now it's lazy, as well...congratulations. All the bad things I've ever done...washed away in an instant, and all that has to happen is some poor schmuck gets nailed to a post. I'll pass.
I'll place the scourge in your hands, do you whip jesus with it or don't you? Is this something that you're okay with?
