I have no idea what happened, I don't need to have an alternative explanation to point out that your version has no evidence. That is the argument from ignorance again, which I referenced from my website
"I don't know" is a perfectly acceptable answer. The need to fill gaps with made up stories is where religion flourishes.
You say this is out of ignorance. Again my opinion. As far as belief again either you believe and have faith or you don't. If you don't then you are an atheist if you choose not to have the faith that it takes to believe. Even I have my beliefs or faith, religion or not also comes down to your personal opinions, beliefs, etc. No one can be convinced that He (Christian God) does exist no more than atheists can convince Christians that He doesn't exist.
I appreciate the conversation. I do enjoy it. We can't learn from each other unless we can talk to each other. Thanks all for your opinions.

Could be a million reasons. Maybe he was going to do something horrible and changed his mind. Maybe he did something and you blotted it out of your mind. Thats just two off the top of my head. To think that god intervened makes me wondered why you think it didn't intervene in the millions of terrible crimes committed where there was no happy ending.
Worst attempt at seduction ever!
It seems this person was emotionally immature and probably mentally disabled in some way. Solved that for you. got anything else?

Had to be emotionally immature person to be in his 50's. Yep sure is. Not mentally disabled, but I will go with mentally ill. As far as changing his mind, what makes a person change his or her mind?
