If you can imagine the world was one single solarty race. what meaning would that word have? like wise if the whole world is sinful/Everyone a sinner, then the only people offended by the "S" word are those who believe they are without sin. It's like being upset at the term Homo sapien. Why would anyone be upset with that term unless they thought themselves to be something more?
Actually, I wasn't dancing around "the "N" word", since it wasn't in my head. Maybe it's a cultural thing. Regardless, my point is if the word "sinner" can equate to "homo sapien", or simply "human", why not use the terms that don't come preloaded with judgemental baggage?
Additionally, depending on the definition of "sin", one of which is something akin to "transgression against God", then I for one am indeed sinless. Merely human.
Judgement by your fellow man is just another example of their own sin. As we are not to levy judgement in that way.
The word itself pertains to a resolvable relational state between each person and God. that is why the other common terms do not apply (as they speak to physiological terms that categorize us in relation to all other living beings on the planet.)
