Is anyone still buying into the "Christopher Columbus was the only one who knew the Earth was round" myth? People are teaching that everyone at the time of Christopher Columbus thought the Earth was flat, but he knew better. Unfortunately, this is not true in any way. In reality, everyone knew the Earth was round, but everyone also knew the Earth was big. Columbus thought the Earth was much smaller (and ironically, he was wrong) so he set out on his journey and luckily landed in the Americas, instead of starving to death like everyone knew he would if there was no Americas.
