I admit to a certain amount of extrapolation, of course. Having eaten clams of several species for many years, I have never met a theistic clam, nor have I ever heard of a clam denouncing persecution of its religion. Clams (to my knowledge) have no sacred rites, rituals or holy books. They have never been observed to attack other clams over dogmatic differences, and don't seem to care who sleeps with whom.
While it is barely possible that theistic clams exist, I think it is fair to say that they do - as a group - rank a strong 6 on the Dawkins Bivalve Scale.
