I ended up getting apple and banana smoothie, and vegetable soup, freshly made. Really nice!
I feel very well cared for here.
I've not heard of that weird word, no! And I'm not at the fart stage yet. That will be getting on for home time when I manage that. I have however filled plenty of buckets with my lovely urine without feeling it.
Epidural now taken out! My smooth back made the easier as there was loads of sticky stuff to rip off it.
Okay, so! It turns out I did get shaved a little bit. The hair around my tummy area got trimmed down. It feels nice and soft!
I have three small scars. One is from a camera I believe. This identified that there was no stricture, but that instead parts of the intestine had become stuck together. This seems to be what was causing my symptoms. So the other two scars are, I think, where the surgeon went in and removed fhe scarrings which were holding the gut in on itself.
This all seems to be the best possible outcome. The keyhole surgery leaves small neat scars, and has a much lower risk of this kind of thing repeating. (It appears this problem may have occurred following my previous, much more major operation). As no cutting inside the gut was needed, my recovery will be quicker and less painful. And it should still mean the blockages stop, so that in time I can eat a proper diet again.
Finally, some luck!
