Magnetos are a type of generator, formerly found in bikes/cars and still found in aircraft, which produces pulsed DC power to the sparkplugs. Modern cars/bikes use an Alternator (which produces AC pulses like a sine wave), of which the "minus" pulses are clipped out by a Regulator. It's more efficient in terms of stepping up the voltage to produce the current which leaps across the plug gap, but it adds a layer of electrical complexity that can fail (the regulator, thyristor switches, etc), which is why aircraft still use the older, less-efficient setup. Still gets the job done, and is safer-- if your bike engine fails, you just pull over to the side of the road, whereas a plane may be in Big Trouble if the engine conks over something electronic.
If you look at very old motorcycles, like the Harley Davidson "Knucklehead", you can still see the magneto setup. Cars, I know less-well.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
