But then I've never understood treating someone badly based on any superficial property.
I've heard it said by old people here, "Lieber tot im Moor / als rot die Hoor", which roughly translates to "you're better of dead in a swamp than with red hair". Two of my aunts were gingers (born in the 1930s) and for them it was a real issue that made them miserable in their youth. Nowadays noone cares as far as I can tell.
